Ice sheet

An ice sheet is a large, thick mass of glacial ice that covers an extensive area of land, typically more than 50,000 square kilometers (19,300 square miles), and flows outward from its center. Ice sheets are found in polar regions, such as Antarctica and Greenland, and play a significant role in Earth's climate and sea level changes.
