A property of an algebraic structure (especially in universal algebra or group theory) whereby the structure embeds (as a retract) into each of its non-trivial homomorphic images, i.e. every such image contains a substructure isomorphic to the original one.

Because of its autoprojectivity, the algebra can be found—up to isomorphism—inside every homomorphic image of itself.
